Kyrgyzstan president signs bill to close U.S base

Kyrgyzstan's president signed a bill that would close down a United States air base. This air base was used as a military route for troops and supplies heading into Afghanistan. This military air base was important to us, but it is not impossible for us to find another. President Obama wants to try and keep it open. He said it will most likely take a little bit more money to change their mind. We are still working with Kyrgyzstan. We will have 180 days to withdraw from the base. Washington is saying that they don't think that this is the presidents "last words". This whole situation is important because it is a necessity to have a place where the troops can go that is safe and so they can get the supplies they need to survive. This air base employed more than 1,000 workers. 95 percent of them were American. This contract is important because when this base closes down that means the troops can not get the supplies they need if it is closed and all those Americans and others will lose their jobs.
